VVJM activists lifted the road blockade
Bhubaneswar,May 4 (UNI)The anti-land acquisition activists of Kalinganagar industrial area in Jajpur district today lifted road blcokade following a discussions with the administration.
The Visthapan Virodhi Janamancha (VVJM) had blocked all roads leading to Kalinganagar including the NH 200 since May one after Amin Banra, one of their colleagues was shot dead by the security guard of a contractor on Thursday.
VVJM leaders threatened to relaunch agitation if their demands were not met.
Among other things the VVJM demanded a compensation of Rs 20 lakh to the family of the victim, a job to a family members and arrest of all persons involved in the murder.
Jajpur District Superintendent of Police D S Kutey said the steps would be taken to arrest all persons involved in the incident.
Amin Banara, a member of the VVJM was killed near his village Baligotha following an altercation between the contractor and the activist.
