Yesterday, the maximum temperature was recorded 29.5 degrees C, which was 7.5 degree above normal. However, the minimum was near normal.
The water level in river Jehlum and its tributaries had increased as snow on the hills had started melting due to above normal day temperature.
There were reports of rainfall in upper reaches, including holy Amarnath cave and its periphery, Sheshnag and Mahaguns.
It said the draught condition has threatened the Apricots and other crops besides causing water shortage.
