28 criminals held in UP

Lucknow, May 4 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh police has arrested twenty eight notorious criminals in the state in the last 24 hours.

In Bijnore district, five men Abru, Akram, Rashid, Taushif and Mehndi were held today, while they were going to attempt another theft in Dhampur area.

Two countrymade pistols, four mobile phones and about 50,000 cash was recovered from them.

In Gautambudhnagar, four miscreants, who planned to loot ATM booth in Noida Sector 60, were held late last night.

In Rai Bareli, a gang of three involved in animal skin smuggling were nabbed red-handed, while they were peeling deer's skin in Unchahar area late last night.

In Meerut district, police busted a gang of vehicle lifters late last night. Several vehicles were recovered from the gang of 12 members.

Four others were also nabbed from the Meerut district for their involvement in theft, robbery, vehicle lifting and other such crimes.

The accused had been sent to jail.
