Wild elephants create havoc
Srikakulam, May 3 (UNI) A herd of elephants, which entered into human habitations of the Veeraghatam and Seethanna Peta Mandal in the Dhonuhbai village in Srikakulam district, created a havoc among the villgers.
Talking to newspersons here today, Divisional Range Forest Officer A Ramana Rao said the elephants, which had killed 11 persons and destroyed property worth lakhs of rupees last year, entered the village again.
The villagers rushed to their roofs, anticipating destruction of houses and property, he said.
Forest officials and armed guards were camping in the village, he said.
The villagers were advised to be very vigilant and not to come out of their houses, he added.
