Undtertrial escapes

Jalandhar, May 3 (UNI) An undertrial, who was under treatment in the civil hospital escaped from the hospital here.

Police today said that undertrial Rajesh Kumar a resident of Bahti Khel in the city, who was admitted in the civil hospital on April 28 and was operated upon for hernia, escaped from the hospital yesterday when the guards went to buy hand gloves for the doctor.

The accused was booked under section 380 of the IPC and was sent to jail on March 30 this year, police added.

The two, Head Constable Jaswinder Singh and Constable Parminder Kumar, who were on guard duty, were immidiately suspended for derelition of duty, police said.
