Two criminals shot dead in encounter in Ghaziabad
Lucknow, May 3 (UNI) Two unidentified miscreants were shot dead in an encounter with police at Majeedpura locality under Hapur police Kotwali in Ghaziabad district early today.
The miscreants about four in number had barged into the house of one Tassavur with an intention of robbery. On hearing the noise, the neighbours of the victim informed the police, which along with the locals cordoned off the area.
According to police, the criminals opened fire on the police first, which later led to an exchange of firing between the two groups. Two unidentified people, were seriously injured in the shoot out and died while on way to hospital.
Three country-made pistols, some live cartidges and the booty they robbed was recovered from their possession, police said.
The bodies had been sent for post-mortem and the case was registred, while the efforts of identification were on.
