Trader's body recovered from canal
Fatehabad, May 3 (UNI) The mystery surrounding the disappearance of a Tohana trader was resolved today with the recovery of his body from the Bhakra Main Canal.
The trader, Suresh Bansal, was allegedly kidnapped and killed by Randhir Singh, a neighbour, police said.
Superintendent of Police (SP) Saurabh Singh said Randhir Singh knew Bansal, who lived near his rented accommodation in the Model Town, Tohana. Randhir conspired with his fellow teacher Vikram to kidnap him for ransom.
As the trader was known to Randhir Singh, the accused shot dead Bansal on the same day under fear of being exposed and threw his body in the canal.
However, the police traced the car used in the incident and rounded up the accused yesterday. On interrogation, the accused admitted his crime.
