Six of a family dead in road accident

Bhavnagar, May 3 (UNI) Six members of a family from Mumbai were killed and five others seriously injured today when their car collided with a speeding truck on the Ahmedabad-Bhavnagar highway near Sanish village, about 30 kms from here.

Bhavnagar police sources said the acccident occurred this morning after the driver lost control over the steering wheel.

The Jains, hailing from Borivali area of North Mumbaim were on their way to Palitana, a famous Jain pilgrim centre.

The deceased have been identified as Chandrakantaben Shantilal Shah (70), Manishaben Hiteshbhai Shah (40), Pankajbhai Shantilal Shah (40), Ripple (12), Hemilbhai (18) and Sureshbhai (driver).

The injured, being treated at the civil hospital, were Monaben Pankajbhai Shah (35), Pashw Pankajbhai Shah (17), Samyak Hiteshbhai Shah (17), Sarang Hiteshbhai Shah (14) and Hiteshbhai Shantilal Shah, police added.
