Several injured during Bandi Mukti Committee rally
Krishnanagar, May 3 (UNI) Several persons, including a few police personnel, were injured today when a rally, organised by the Bandi Mukti Committee at the Ranaghat court premises in Nadia district, turned violent.
Police said the agitators hurled stones at the security personnel and damaged police vehicles following which they resorted to lathicharge to control the mob.
Altogether six persons were arrested so far, police added.
The Bandi Mukti Committee had organised the procession to demand rigths for the political prisoners and granting of bail to them.
The situation was under control although tension prevailed in the area, police said.
