Programmes to felicitate 1857 struggle in Chhattisgarh

Raipur, May 3 (UNI) The valedictory function of year-long felicitation of 150th anniversary of India's First War of Independence would take place in Chhattisgarh on May 10.

Culture Tourism Minister Brijmohan Agarwal said at a press conference here today that several cultural programmes started from May 1. An exhibition based on the Revolt of 1857 would be held here.

Besides several programmes, a play 'Jaanta Raja' showcasing Chhatrapati Shivaji's life would be staged from May 6 to 10.

''Congress leaders have also been invited in the programme,'' he added.
