Over 1,200 in fray for 3rd phase polls in K'taka
Bangalore, May 3 (UNI) More than 1,200 candidates are left in the fray for the 69 Assembly segments that go to polls in the third phase of Karnataka Assembly elections on May 22.
According to the latest information available in the State Chief Electoral Officer's office, hectic nomination filing was reported in all the eight districts of Belgaum, Bagalkot, Bijapur, Gulbarga, Bidar, Gadag, Dharwad and Haveri in Northern parts of the State.
Belgaum topped the filings with 199 aspirants filing their papers before the deadline ended today at 1500 hrs.
Scrutiny of applications would be taken up on May five and the last date for withdrawal of candidature is May seven.
