Muslim body seeks reservation for community

Puducherry, May 3 (UNI) The Muslim Munnetra Makkal Minority Peravai has urged the administration to provide 3.5 per cent reservation for Muslims in education and employment opportunities.

Peravai President P N Mankush told a press conference here that people from other communities were starting colleges and schools under the pretext of minorities. The Government should take over such institutions.

Urging that the lands owned by the Wakf Board, given on a meagre rent, should be retrieved, he said colleges and schools for Muslims should be built on the lands.
