Major fire in oil company godown
Kakinada, Andhra Pradesh, May 3 (UNI)In a major fire that broke out in the supply base structure of Cairn Energy Limited in Vakalapudi Area on the city outskirts here today, nearly Rs one crore worth rubber floating hoses were gutted and the entire godown damaged.
Five fire tenders from the port city and also of the neighbouring industries NFCL, GFCL and Spectrum Power Generation fought the blaze for over three hours.
Assistant Divisional Fire Officer Ammu Naidu told UNI that short circuit was the reason for the outbreak of fire.
However, the police have registered a case and started a detailed investigation into the cause of the fire.
