Jaish operative arrested in Jammu
Jammu, May 3: A local Over Ground Worker (OGW) of Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) terrorist outfit was apprehended by the Special Operation Group (SOG) of police here in the city outskirts, police said today.
The OGW, identified as Mohammad Arif of Narole in Mendhar tehsil of bordering Poonch district, was arrested during a special checking at Toph Sherkhanian by an SOG team last evening, the police said.
Police got suspicious when a man deboarded the bus just a few meters short of check point. They chased him and nabbed him, the sources said.
During the frisking, posters of the JeM and some letters belonging to Daud, the self-styled 'divisional commander' of the outfit in Poonch, were recovered from Arif's possession.
The OGW was carrying the material belonging to Jaish in Srinagar in the Kashmir valley, the police said.
A case was registered against the Jaish operative at Nowabad police station in the city, the police added.
The OGW would be shifted to the joint interrogation cell for further questioning, they disclosed.
