Five persons arrested for accepting bets
Rajkot, May 3 (UNI) Five persons have been arrested for accepting bets on the on-going Indian Premier League Twenty20 matches near Morbi, about 70 km from here.
Acting on a tip-off, a police party kept watch on the Rajkot-Morbi road and intercepted a car, with 'press' stickers last night on Sanala road, near Morbi, and arrested the five for accepting bets on the matches.
The police also seized two laptops, 28 mobile phones, a recording machine and cash of Rs 68,850 from the car.
The arrested persons have been identified as Altaf Mahammed, Jagdish alias Jaggi Dinesh, Gaurav Bhatt, Sanjay alias Botham Doshi and Bipin Patel, police said.
