Don't allow Bangarappa to bring back arrack: Yeddyurappa
Madikeri, Karnataka, May 3 (UNI) Samajwadi Party Leader S Bangarappa, who had conspired with the Congress and the JD(S) and contested against him in Shikaripura, will bring back arrack sale in the state which was banned when the BJP was in the saddle, BJP Leader B S Yeddyurappa today claimed.
Speaking at an election rally in Gonicoppal today, the Former Deputy Chief Minister said the dreaded social evil which affected lakhs of village homes was banned due to the bold steps taken by him when he held the high office.
Accusing the Congress and JD(S) of conspiring by withdrawing their candidates, he said people would give them a fitting reply.
''The state will again go to bad hands if people vote for this nexus. Why did they not come to an understanding in all the 224 seats? If the Congress and JD (S) want to form a coalition government in the state again, where was the necessity for re-election?'' he asked.
Mr Yeddyurappa launched a tirade against Congress Leaders Veerappa Moily and Janardhana Poojary and said they stooped to very low level in throwing allegations against BJP by stating they had stolen jewellery and statues at Ayodhya.
The BJP would not stoop to such dirty level. It would lodge a complaint against them with the Chief Election Commissioner, he said.
Urging people to vote the BJP to power, he declared they will introduce people-friendly schemes and projects.
He assured people of Kodagu that his government will solve the problems of jamma land and provide ownership of trees. He will also encourage tourism there.
