Cong demands MP CM's resignation
Bhopal, May 3 (UNI) Leader of the Opposition in the Madhya Pradesh Assembly Jamuna Devi today demanded Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan's resignation in the wake of the state High Court's recent ruling on the dumpers' purchase case.
''The ruling proved that the Chief Minister flouted rules to annul M/s Dalmiya Cement Ltd's lease and benefit Jaypee Associates instead. State Mineral Resource Minister Laxmikant Sharma should be immediately dismissed from the Cabinet,'' she told reporters here.
Pointing out the lease was allotted to Dalmiya Cement since 1995, Ms Devi added that the company even appealed to the Centre against the annullment but the state regime took no action on the Centre's order.
''The ruling proves that my plea to the Lokayukta for a probe into the dumper scam was a step in the right direction,'' she said.
