Cessna showcase latest CJ2+ jets for Indian corporate world

Bangalore, May 3 (UNI) Eyeing the rapidly growing Indian civil aviation industry and business, US aviation major Cessna, today showcased its latest model of business jet Citation CJ2+ in India.

Two CJ2+s, the twin-engine six plus two-seater jets, landed at the airfield belonging by Taneja Aerospace and Aviation Ltd (TAAL) near Hosur, about 50 km from here and would be on display at HAL Bangalore Airport for one week.

This was part of the 'Demonstration Tour' taken up by the aviation major owned by Textron Incorporation and during the present trip, the jets were being shown across South Asia. Bangalore was the first destination in India later, the jets would be flying to other important cities.

''We are eyeing the Indian corporate world which is now ready to buy more business jet aircraft and CJ2+ is most suitable to the Indian sophisticated traveler as it has an ideal range and is a cost effective aircraft,'' Cessna director of Sales S Michael McGreevy said.

Briefing newspersons later he said the Wichita, Kansas, based company offered the best propositions in the business jet space and it offered ten models in light, mid-sized and super mid-sized business jets.

The Cessna Citation CJ2+, which comes with a price tag of Rs 27 crore, is a low-wing aircraft with retractable tricycle landing bear and a T-tail. It had a range of 1100 to 1750 nautical miles and was ideally suited to travel between any two cities in India, he said.

TAAL, which had the state-of-the-art MRO facility near the city had been appointed as its official sales and service facility in India, he said.
