Bangarappa would re-introduce arrack in Karnataka: Yeddyurappa
Madikeri, May 3 (UNI) Voting Samajwadi Party (SP) State-unit President S Bangarappa to power in the Assembly elections to Karnataka, would result in re-entry of banned arrack in the State, cautioned BJP leader and the party's Chief Ministerial candidate B S Yeddyurappa.
Addressing a BJP election rally at Gonicoppal today, Mr Yeddyurappa alleged that Mr Bangarappa has planned to re-introduce arrack, banned by the JD(S)-BJP combine during their tenure.
He further alleged that the Congress and JD(S) were hobnobbing with each other to finish him off politically and to install a coalition Government in the State.
The BJP leader wondered why the Congress and JD(S) forged an electoral understanding only at his constituency and not in the remaining 223 constituencies. If both the parties had decided to form a coalition Government in the State, conducting another election would become meaningless, but the people of the State would expose their nefarious designs in the poll , he added.
Mr Yeddyurappa vehemently criticised former Karnataka CM Veerappa Moily and former KPCC President Janardhana Poojary and alleged that they had stooped to a low-level in throwing allegations against the BJP by stating that the party had stolen jewellery and statues at Ayodhya. The BJP would lodge a complaint with the Chief Election Commissioner against them, he cautioned.
He said the BJP would introduce people-friendly schemes and projects. The party would take steps for increasing power generation from 5000 MW to 10,000 MW, introduce Kushalnagar Sakleshpur railway-line and Veerasoudha and Yudda Soudha halls in all the districts, rehabilitation of the wounded soldiers and Rs 500 crore fund for the farmers.
The party would also initiate steps for Rs two encouragement incentive to milk producers per litre, loan to poor at three per cent interest from nationalised banks, Bhagyalakshmi scheme to five lakh girls, two kilo rice to poor, increasing annual income of poor from Rs 11,800 to 60,000 and increasing annual income of the poorest to Rs 30,000, among others, he added.
