Avoid use of polythene during campaign: CEO
Shimla, May 3 (UNI) Himachal Pradesh Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Manisha Nanda has urged all the political parties not to use plastic and polythene for preparation of posters, banners in election campaigns.
She also urged the political parties to use loudspeakers as per the guidelines issued by the Election Commission of India. The use of loudspeakers are only permitted between stipulated time of 0600 hrs to 1100 hrs in rural areas outside corporation or municipal limits and from 0600 hrs to 1000 hrs in municipal limits.
''Any vehicle on which a loudspeaker is used without written permit would be confiscated along with other campaign loudspeakers itself'', Ms Nanda added.
