Army organises medical and veterinary camp
Una, May 3 (UNI) Indian Army's 29 Infantry Division, christened as 'Gurj' Division, today organised a medical and veterinary camp in Saghnai village of Gagret block in Una district of Himachal Pradesh.
The camp was inaugurated by Maj. Gen. Ravi Harshvardhan, GOC 'Gurj' Division, while Una Deputy Commissioner Padam Singh Chauhan was the guest of honour on the occasion.
Besides ex-servicemen and their families, the local population around Saghnai village was provided with facilities like X-Ray, ECG, pathological and dental services.
Officers from the Army Education Corps organised an awareness camp for the unemployed youth to guide them on the prospects of joining the armed forces.
Officers from the Army Veterinary Corps checked the cattle of local population and gave free medication to ailing animals.
A health awareness camp was also organised on the occasion to educate the general public on issues like sanitation, AIDS and other diseases. Deputy GOC Brig. NS Kapoor was also present besides Una ADM Vinod Kumar and Amb SDM PR Verma.
