Vidhan Parishad probe committee visits drought hit Banda

Banda, May 2 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh Vidhan Parishad Chairman Chaudhary Sukhram Singh along with a probe committee led by him today visited drought affected areas here.

Taking stock of the situation in Kashipur, Bandhapurva, Badokhar Bujurg, Raona and Badokhar Khurd areas, the committee met the bereaved family members of those farmers who died of starvation or committed suicide.

Later, a meet was organised, in which relief and development works were reviewed, sources said.

The committee included leader of opposition in Legislative Council Ahmad Hassan, Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) leader Munna Singh Chauhan, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Mithilesh Narayan Srivastava and Samajwadi Party (SP) leaders Rakesh Singh Rana and Ramangeena Yadav.
