Tata Motors' sale declines by 5.8 per cent
Kolkata, May 02 (UNI) Tata Motors's sale took a beating, registering a total sale of 38,149 vehicles, including exports, for April 2008, a decline of 5.8 per cent over 40,486 vehicles sold in April last year.
The Company's sale of commercial vehicles in April 2008 in the domestic market was 21,001, an increase of seven per cent compared to 19,607 vehicles sold in April lat year.
M&HCV sale stood at 11,248, an increase of eight per cent over April 2007.
LCV sale was 9,753, an increase of six per cent over April 2007.
Tata Motors' passengers vehicle business reported a total sale of 14,843 vehicles in the domestic market in April 2008, a decline of 12 per cent compared to 16,842, sold in April 2007.
While the Indica retails were over 10,000, wholesale billings were restricted to 7430, a decline of 31,6 per cent over April 2007.
The Indigo family registered sales of 3763, an increase of 43 per cent over April 2007.
Sumo and Safari sales at 3650 registered an increase of 9.3 per cent over April last year.
The company exported 2,305 vehicles in April 2008 as compared to 4,037 vehicles in April last year, a decline of 43 per cent.
