Police seize explosives from a tractor in Valsad
Surat, May 2 (UNI) A box of explosives, containing 150 detonators and 140 gelatine sticks, were recovered from a tractor under Vasda police station in Valsad district of Gujarat, police said today.
Police sources said that on a tip-off, Navsari Local crime branch along with Vasda Police personnel stopped a tractor near Vanarashi Char Rastra last evening. They carried out a search, resulting in recovery of a box containing explosives.
Police arrested the tractor driver Jayanti Patel and its owner Nirmalgiri Goswami under the explosives act, police said.
On interrogation, they confessed that the explosives were purchased from a Marwadi at a cost of Rs 5,000 for deepening a village well.
Police have registered a case against the duo.
