Partial response to BJP-sponsered bandh in Gujarat
Ahmedabad, May 2 (UNI) Barring Junagadh in Saurashtra, the bandh called by the BJP to corner UPA government at the Centre over spiralling prices in the country, received a mixed response in Gujarat.
In Ahmedbad, markets and other business establishments were open.
In Vadodara, Surat, Bhavnagar and Kutch, a partial bandh was observed, with nearly half of the business establishments remaining open.
In Junagadh in Saurashtra, some organisations and social activists took out rallies and condemned the price rise.
In other parts of Saurashtra, the bandh evoked less than partial response.
