Media should project true values of Islam : Kuwait official

Kochi, May 2 (UNI) Kuwait Ministry Official Waleed Khalid Al-Ammar today urged the media to project the true values of Islam to the world.

Addressing a gathering after inaugurating the 'International Seminar on Islam--Salavation' organised by Mujahid Centre here, Mr Waleed said '' Muslims around the world don't vouch for anti-Islam superstitious beliefs and terrorism and these two were the main reasons why the religion is misinterpreted.'' He said the media should take the initiative to propagate the true values of Islam and clear the cloud on the religion.

'' Kuwait is against violence and terrorism, and we want a peaceful society,'' Mr Waleed, who is the Director of Foreign Relations, said.

Mr Waleed also praised the efforts of the Mujahid Centre to organise the exhibition, which would help in spreading the message of the holy Quran.

At the ten-day exhibition, more than 50 religious experts from across the world would be presenting papers and holding discussions.
