Maharashtra school education dept announces Teachers Awards
Mumbai, May 2 (UNI) The Maharashtra School Education Department today announced the State Teachers Awards for the year 2007-08 here.
A total of 96 teachers from the state have been chosen for this award. Of the total, 37 are primary teachers, 38 secondary and 18 teachers are those working in the adivasi schools. Two special teachers and one from the handicapped school category have also been chosen for the award.
The teachers would be handed over the awards on September 5, which is celebrated throughout the country as Teachers' Day.
The award comprises Rs 75,000 in cash and a citation. The teachers, who have been chosen for the award, will also get two increments in their pay scale, the release added.
