Labour day celebrated in Bihar
Patna, May 2: Bihar today joined the celeberation of labour day with the rest of the country as several functions were organised across the state to mark the occasion.
Different labour organisations organised functions to mark the day across the state and took out processions and rallies in solidarity with the labour force across the globe. Almost all the industrial units and factories were closed on the occasion.
Construction works of the private and government buildings besides roads and bridges came to halt as labourers engaged in the works, took the day off to participate in the function organised by the various organisations.
Offices of the Bihar government remained closed on the day.
Incidentally, employees of the university and colleges across the state went on mass casual leave today in support of their demands and rectification of pay anomalies.
