AP: Devotees donate Rs 1.6 cr for TTD schemes

Tirumala, May 2: Three devotees of Lord Venkateswara today donated Rs 1.60 crore for various Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD)-run schemes here.

While businessman Birla from Mumbai donated Rs 50 lakh for Kalyanamastu (free mass marriage) scheme, Mr Praveen Mohan from Bangalore gave Rs ten lakh for the Nityaannadhana scheme. Another devotee, who wished to remain anonymous, handed over Rs one crore for the Nityaannadhana scheme.

The devotees handed over the demand drafts for the sum to TTD Chairman B Karunakara Reddy.
