Chhattisgarh for including more communities in SC/ST list
Raipur, May 2 (UNI) With assembly elections just months away, the Chhattisgarh government has decided to recommend to the Centre to include about a dozen communities in the list of Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes.
Briefing mediapersons after a cabinet meeting presided over by Chief Minister Raman Singh, Food and Civil Supplies Minister Satyanand Rathiya said the Tribal Research and Training Institute had submitted a report to the state government, recommending such inclusion.
''The state government accepted the report and it has been decided to recommend inclusion of these communities in the list,'' he added.
Most of the communities reside in Raipur, Durg, Rajnandgaon, Kawardha and Jashpur districts.
