BJP leaders arrested in Andhra Pradesh
Hyderabad, May 2: BJP leaders, including party Andhra Pradesh unit President Bandaru Dattatreya, were today arrested when they staged a dharna in front of the State Civil Supplies Bhavan in protest against the UPA Government's ''failure'' to curb rise in prices of essential commodities as part of the party's nationwide strike.
The BJP leaders and workers squatted on the road in front of the Bhavan, demanding that the Government take steps to curb the spiralling prices of essential commodities.
When the leaders and party workers tried to barge into the premises of the Civil Supplies office, police took them into preventive custody.
Vehicular traffic on the busy Somajiguda area came to a standstill for more than an hour. The commuters faced problems in reaching their destinations.
