Beni Prasad Verma hints his interest in Cong, BSP
Lucknow, May 2 (UNI) Rebel Samajwadi Party (SP) MP and founder of Samajwadi Kranti Dal (SKD) Beni Prasad Verma today said he would announce his future political strategy by July, hinting his eagerness to join the Congress or the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP).
Talking to mediapersons Mr Verma here said there was a positive signal from Congress chief Sonia Gandhi. ''She had even assured me of attending a rally between June and July to be organised by SKD,'' he added.
''However, if the Congress still delays my invitation then I have no other option but to join the BSP,'' the SKD leader said.
But the MP also clarified that he would not contest the Lok Sabha polls on the BSP symbol at any cost.
Mr Verma also hit out at Congress general secretary and UP unit in charge Digvijay Singh, saying due to latter's opposition, his entry in the Congress was being delayed.
Criticising the SP president Mulayam Singh Yadav, Mr Verma said Mr Yadav's political future had ended and now after his party's defeat in all the by-elections recently held in the state, it proved that the caste, said to be supporting the party, had also gone against them.
