Arunachal police arrests rape accused

Itanagar, May 2 (UNI) The Arunachal Pradesh police arrested a person, accused of raping and murdering a minor girl, from a hideout at Holongi, about 15 km from here.

Police said here today that acting on a tip-off, one Raju Biswakarma, a 22-year-old driver, was arrested yesterday.

Raju was one of the accused in the gang-rape of six-year-old Sushmita Ghosh on March 22. She was later strangled and her body was dumped in a deserted area near Barpani river.

Earlier, the mastermind of the crime Pawan Biswakarma and his accomplice Sapna Begum, who had lured the girl to the crime spot, were arrested.
