6 killed, 4 hurt badly as auto hits bus in TN

Rajapalayam, Tamil Nadu, May 2 (UNI) Six people were killed and four seriously injured when the autorickshaw in which they were travelling hit a state transport corporation bus on the Rajapalayam-Sankarankoil Road, near here,this evening.

Superintendent of Police Senthilkumar told UNI the head-collision occurred when the autorickshaw proceeding from Asilapuram Village to Rajapalayam hit the bus proceeding from Theni to Tirunelveli.

The injured were admitted to the Government Rajaji Hospital in Madurai where their condition was reported to be critical.

The bodies of the deceased were admitted to the government hospital here for post-mortem.

Traffic was held up for over two hours on the busy Rajapalayam-Sankarankoil Road due to the mishap. The SP was supervising the relief and rescue operations.
