25-year-old youth killed in Maharashtra

Mumbai, May 2: A 25-year-old youth was allegedly killed by a security guard and three other workers of the Shivshakti Tower at Andheri in western suburbs here.

According to police, on April 29, deceased Shiraj Aasani Ansari (25), an electrician, had allegedly stolen a water tap of the Shivshakti Tower society. The security guard Rajnath Krishnabihari Pande (22) and three others caught hold of him yesterday and brutally assaulted him, accusing him of the offence, following which he succumbed to the injuries, police said.

Thereafter, the accused gave false statements to police, stating that the deceased fell down from top of the building, while doing his job, police said.

After thorough investigation, truth was revealed and Pande with another co-accused Prasant Kumar Jana (26) was arrested, while the remaining two accused are still at large, police said.
