UP still hot, Banda records 45.5 degree Celsius
Lucknow, May 1 (UNI) People of Uttar Pradesh were reeling under a blistering sun, as heat wave conditions continued to prevail in some parts of the state.
As per the met department, the day temperature changed a little in all divisions of UP and was appreciably above normal in Varanasi, Faizabad, Allahabad, Kanpur, Lucknow and Bareilly.
Banda stood the hottest at 45.5 degrees Celsius, which was 4 notches above normal.
Allahabad was the second hot city in the state at 44.7 degree Celsius, followed by Varanasi 44.6, Kanpur 43.8, Lucknow 43, Bareilly 42 and Gorakhpur 40.
While many people took shelter of umberalls to beat the heat, many others preffer to stay indoors.
Meanwhile, the weatherman forecast thunderstorm and duststorm at isolated place in east UP. Dry weather was forecast for western part of the state.
