Surgeon Vice Admiral V S Dixit takes over as Navy DGMS
New Delhi, May 1 (UNI) Surgeon Vice Admiral Vasant Shripadarao Dixit today took over as the Director General Medical Services (Navy).
He was commissioned as Surgeon Lt on September 20, 1971.
Before taking over reins of Naval Medical Branch, Admiral Dixit commanded two premier naval hospitals INHS Sanjivini and INHS Asvini at Kochi and Mumbai respectively.
He has also been the Command Medical Officer at the Eastern Naval Command headquarters in 2005 and the Western Naval Command, Mumbai till April 30.
