Shimla records warmest night of season at 17.6 degree
Shimla, May 1 (UNI) Shimla town recorded warmest night of this summer season at 17.6 degree Celsius, while the town's day temperature fell to 26.9 degrees following thick cloud cover during the second half of the day.
The minimum temperature in this hill state's capital rose to 17.6 degree Celsius, as compared to 15.9 degrees recorded yesterday, the met office told UNI here.
The maximum temperatures at Sundernagar in Mandi district and the tourist resort of Dharamshala in Kangra district rose by a few notches to 37.8 and 34.4 degree Celsius respectively following another sunnyand a dry today.
However, the day temperatures at Bhuntar of Kullu district and Kalpa in Kinnuar district fell to 32 and 21 degree Celsius respectively as compared to 33.2 and 21.4 degrees respectively recorded yesterday.
The met office said the night temperature at Sundernagar rose by a degree to 14.9 degrees, while Bhuntar recorded a slight rise in the minimum temperature to 11.2 degrees.
Kalpa's night temperature fell to four degrees as compared to 5.2 degree Celsius recorded yesterday.
Una town recorded an increase in the minimum temperature, which stood at 15.5 today as compared to 14.4 degrees recorded yesterday.
Mandi was warm at 15.3, while Dharamshala recorded a night temperature of 19.9 degrees. Shimla town had a light drizzle during the later part of the second half of the day followed by gale force winds after a bright and a sunny morning today.
However, the sky soon cleared out by the evening. The met office has forecast another dry weather in the state during the next 24 hrs.
