Sex workers take out procession demanding recognition

Kolkata, May 1 (UNI) Sex workers took out a candle-light procession in the city on May day today to press for their demand for recognition as labourers.

Under the banner of Durbar Mahila Samanwaya Committee (DMSC), an NGO, the sex workers of Sonagachhi, the country's one of the largest red light areas, paraded streets in North Kolkata.

A DMSC spokesperson said the procession was taken out demanding social rights for sex workers.
