Kathmandu, May 1 : Communist Party of Nepal (CPN) Maoist leader and Minister for Information and Communication Krishna Bahadur Mahara said on Thursday that the Maoist are ready to lead the next government without the help of other parties if the latter did not want to join the next government.
"We will form the government by ourselves if the other parties don't want to join us in a coalition," Kantipur quoted Mahara, as saying.
Mhara was addressing a rally to mark the International Workers Day.
He also added that the Maoists will move ahead to lead the next government with the help of justice-loving people of Nepal and world over.
"We can mobilise 20 million people for the construction and we can really make changes in the country's infrastructure with in next two or three years," Mahara said, adding, "we are equally prepared to make use of spade, sickle and shovel with the same guts as we fired bullets and guns."
Mahara also made it clear that the next government will be led by Maoists and no body has the right to lead it. Attempts to deprive the Maoists of their rights will backfire on themselves and that will be suicidal, he added.
The Minister further said that no one should suggest the Maoists to change their behaviour.
Mahara also clarified that the Maoists are ready for all kinds of alternatives and are not in favour of moving ahead closing any alternatives. The Maoist's first alternative was to work together with other political forces form a new government in the leadership of the CPN-Maoist.
Mahara said that the "absurd logic" of disbandment of his party's youth front Young Communist League (YCL) were of no use anymore.
Mahara said, "It is not my judgment and it has been defined by an Indian intellectual in his interview to a media," adding "There is no point protesting against YCL in Nepal."
Mahara also called on the Nepalis people to be united for the campaign of building new Nepal in the Maoist leadership "who are your true friends".
