NTPC unit failure hits power supply in AP coastal dists
Visakhapatnam, May 1 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Eastern Power Distribution Company Limited (APEPDCL) Chief General Manager B Ramesh Prasad today said power supply in the coastal districts of Vizianagaram, Srikakulam, Visakhapatnam, East and West Godavari would be affected following drop in production due to technical problems with the 500 MW unit at the NTPC's Simhadri Plant.
Mr Prasad told UNI here this morning said the 500 MW plant failed as the generation station grid soiler pipes were not working for the last two days. It was also experiencing other technical problems.
The fault would be set right and the NTPC would resume normal production tonight, he added.
