Nicole Kidman to play 60s singer Dusty Springfield in biopic?
London, May 1 : Aussie beauty Nicole Kidman is set to play 1960s British pop legend Dusty Springfield in a new movie, it has emerged.
The 40-year-old actress is set to team up with Michael Cunningham, who scripted her Oscar-winning role as Virginia Woolf in 'The Hours'.
The film will chronicle Dusty's rise to stardom in the 60s - and her battles with drugs, booze and mental health problems.
Michael said the script will not shy away from her bisexuality.
"It will be the real Dusty, a great artist who no one knew what to do with," the Mirror quoted him, as saying.
"But she is going into history with The Beatles and The Rolling Stones," he added.
Dusty died of breast cancer in 1999.
