Inquiry must on question-setters: J'khand CM

Ranchi, May 1: Jharkhand Chief Minister Madhu Koda today directed the Ranchi University (RU) Vice Chancellor (VC) to take appropriate action against the question-setters who had allegedy asked controversial questions in the post-graduation examination of the university held yesterday.

''I have asked RU VC A A Khan to conduct inquiry into the matter and apprise the authorities concerned as the questions were prepared by outsiders,'' Mr Koda told a news conference here.

Mr Koda said such an act could hurt the sentiments of a community and affect communal harmony.

Meanwhile, the RU administration cancelled the examination and set up a committee to inquire into the matter.

The second year post graduate students of History were asked a question related with Prophet Mohammad.

Various Muslim organisations had also condemned the incident and demanded immediate action against the culprits.
