Chhota Rajan's aide killed in encounter

Hyderabad, May 1: Notorious gangster and mafia don Chhota Rajan's close aide Venkat Reddy was shot dead by the city police in an enounter at Jubilee Hills area late last night.

Police said Venkat Reddy alias Azeez Reddy was on his way to procure weapons when a police team, acting on a tip-off, intercepted his car at road number 46 in Jubilee Hills. When the police asked Reddy to surrender, he refused and opened fire at them. In defence, police opened fire killing the gangster on the spot.

Reddy was involved in eight murder cases and several extortion and real estate settlements. He was released from jail a few months ago.

After his release, the ganster was hiding in Mumbai and came to the city only recently.

Reddy became a part of the underworld at a young age and emerged as a gangster in the city.

His parents, who were living in the capital city, disowned him a few years ago.
