APCC to organise Rededication Day on May 14

Hyderabad, May 1 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) President D Srinivas today said the party would organise Rededication Day on May 14, in connection with the completion of four years of the Congress government in the state.

Talking to newspersons, after hoisting the May Day flag at Gandhi Bhavan here, he said all the party leaders - from the grassroot level to senior leaders - would be invited for the function.

He said the party would write letters to AICC members, including Veerappa Moily and General Secretary Iqbal Singh and other leaders of the party.

On the party's plans to forge an alliance with friendly parties for the ensuing by-elections in the state, he said even now he wanted to form alliance with friendly parties.

He said the Congress had fought 2004 elections with friendly parties and wanted to do the same. But it would depend on the response from other parties, he added.

However, he said, the Congress could fight elections on its own as the party had a great history and gained the support of the people.
