AP safe from 'Nargis', storm remains stationary

Visakhapatnam, May 1: The extremely severe cyclonic storm 'Nargis' which lay centered over the West Central and adjoining South and East Central Bay of Bengal remained practically stationary at about 750 km Southwest of Sandoway-Myanmar in the Burma Region.

A weather bulletin, issued by the Cyclone Warning Centre (CWC), here this morning said the system was likely to intensify further and move in a East Northeasterly direction.

Since the system had moved Eastwards away from the Andhra Coast, there was no threat to Andhra Pradesh, the bulletin added.
