7 Additional Judges For Allahabad HC

New Delhi, May 1 (UNI) The appointment of seven Additional Judges to Allahabad High Court by President Pratibha Patil was announced by the Law and Justice Ministry this evening.

Additional Judges Surendra Singh, Arvind Kumar Tripathi, Shashi Kant Gupta, Bala Krishna Narayana, Rajesh Dayal Khare, Shabihul Hasnain and Abhinava Upadhya, in that order of seniority, will have a two year term each, the announcement said.

Officials say the High Court has a sanctioned strength of 160 Judges-- including 65 recently added-- but almost half of the posts are vacant.
