Srinagar, May 1 (UNI) The Jammu and Kashmir government has suspended 50 more officials of different government departments in the Kashmir valley.

With this, a total of 87 officials had been suspended during the past 48 hours in the valley for unauthorised absence from duty.

An official spokesman said a complaint was received that officials of some government departments were not attending to their duties in Kulgam district of south Kashmir.

Subsequently, Assistant Commissioner, Revenue, (ACR), Kulgam, conducted a surprise checking of different departments in the district.

During the inspection, 45 officials, including a senior officer in Cooperatives Department, were found absent from duty without prior permission.

Later, on the recommendation of the ACR, all the 45 officials were placed under suspension.

The Additional Deputy Commissioner Bandipora, paid a surprise visit to the Municipal Committee office and found five employees absent from duty, who were later suspended from service.
