Woman killed in road accident in Surat

Surat, Apr 30 (UNI) An elderly woman was killed and four others injured when a truck rammed into a tea stall at Madhav Park area on the city outskirts today, police said.

Police sources said five motorcycles and two tempos were badly damaged in the mishap.

The driver of the sand-laden truck lost control over the steering and rammed into the tea stall after hitting vehicles, parked near the shop.

The deceased has been identified as Dharampuri Bada (60).

Rajesh Kholi(13), Chetan Kholi(40), Dinesh Sawale (35) and Lal Singh(30) sustained injuries. The victim was having her tea at the stall when the mishap took place.

The truck driver fled from the scene after the accident.

The injured were admitted to the government hospital.
