Salem has life threats from D gang
Mumbai, Apr 30 (UNI) Extradited underworld don Abu Salem is facing life threats from fugitive underworld don Dawood Ibrahim and his brother Anees, said police in an affidavit filed in the Bombay High Court.
Police yesterday filed the affidavit in the high court, following a petition filed by Salem in the court,, challenging the order of Maharashtra government, in which he sought to restrain authorities from moving him out of Arthur Road Jail due to security reasons.
In the affidavit, police stated that ''Dawood Ibrahim and Anees Ibrahim have been entrusted with the job of killing Salem while en route to court.'' A division bench comprising Justice Bilal Nazki and Justice A P Bhangale will hear Salem's petition after the summer vacation.
It may be recalled that on February 23 this year, the state government had ordered that Salem should not be moved out of the Jail as there was a possibility of attack on him en route to court.
